NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
The philosophy of the NSS is a good doctrine in
this motto, which underlines on the belief that the welfare of an individual is
ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole and therefore,
the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.
The main objectives of National
Service Scheme (NSS)
1. Understand the community in which they work
2. Understand themselves in relation to their community
3. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
4. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
5. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
6. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
7. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
8. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
9. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
10. Practice national integration and social harmony.

KVGP NSS UNIT
For the past 10 years, service its inception the NSS Unit of our college has been fulfilling the vision of Mahathma Gandhiji. The N.S.S unit
of KVG Polytechnic started in the Silver Jubilee year 2009-10. For the past
years their achievement are indeed remarkable.
The NSS
unit has been central in undertaking tasks like the protection of the
environment. Personality Development, Blood donation camps, Road Safety
progammes, Fire safety programs, Vanamhothsava, , Skill development Programmes.etc
Several camps were conducted by the unit.
1 In the year
2009-10 a camp was conducted in the
Scheduled Cast colony where in 23 houses
were provided with drinking water and Electricity facilities
2 A road of
3.5 Kilometers long was constructed from Paimbechal of Aletty village to
Ajjavara Village in the year 2019-11
3 In the
year 2011-12 a State level
inter-Polytechnic camp was conducted . A
plan of providing Drinking water facilities to 39 houses of Kodthilu Nisarga
colony of Ivarnadu village was made.
4 In the year
2012-13 house site of 3.5 acres of land was distributed to the poor and
destitute at Balugodu village.
5 A Vegetable
garden was planted in the Govt
Hr.Pr.School Amai Madiyaru School of Ubaradka Mithoor Village in the
year 2013-14
6 In the year
2014-15 a State level inter-Polytechnic
camp was conducted. A plan of irrigation and drainage system to the
Thodikana Sri Mallikarjuna Temple was made
7 In the year 2015-16 the installation of
Pipe Compost system was done to 150 houses of the Jayanagara ward of Sullia Town Panchayath.
8 In the year
2016-17 Toilets were constructed and Repair of playground of the Govt.Hr.Pr school Adthale, Aranthodu
was done.
9. In the year
2017-18 A project of School garden with
irrigation and construction of hand washing sink was made at Govt Hr. Pr.
School Jalsooru.
10. In the year
2018-19 A project of School vegetable
garden with irrigation was made at Govt Hr. Pr. School Kerpala.
The Significant fact
about all our camps is that importance to the technical works like plumbing,
electrical wiring ,repair of household
items and agricultural equipments
It is with a sense of pride we
can say that 2 Volunteers Shravankumar
(2012-13) and Niriksha C. Shetty (2016-17) were attended the Republic Day Parade at Delhi and 2
volunteers Karunakara V( 2012-13) and
Yuresh K.B (2014-15) were attended the
Republic Day Parade at Bangalore . and
also one volunteer Niriksha C. Shetty
(2017-18) attended BRICS conference
held at China representing NSS.
Mr. Chandrashekara C (Program
officer Unit-1) honored with DTE level “Best
NSS Program officer award” (2014-15) and “National Young Leader award” (2015-16)
